
Every August, a new class of AmeriCorps workers begin a 11-month service program for young men and women. Through an invaluable partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, these AmeriCorps team members take part in house-building and program coordination, providing a shot of youthful energy, muscle and skills to life-changing projects in Dane County. AmeriCorps workers must be 18 years old and have either a high school diploma or a GED.
Adrian Camacho - Construction Assistant- Adrian has a master's degree in forestry and environmental studies from Yale. He was a forestry manager for the Metro parks in Louisville, KY. He is moving to Madison to be with his wife who is completing her PhD. During this year as an AmeriCorps he will be researching the need and costs involved with rehabbing buildings to make them handicap accessible. Click here for Adrian's profile.
Greg Louden - Construction Assistant- Greg has a degree in Sociology. He has planned and led after school programs for inner city children, he was the Director of Outdoor Ministries at the Dubois Center in Illinois, and most recently he was the Director of Site Operations at Whispering Pines Camp in Northern Wisconsin. Greg has worked with contractors as well as volunteers on remodeling and building projects.
Kristy Rogers - Construction Assistant- Kristy has a master's degree in Limnology from UW-Madison. She has worked as a technical coordinator at Epic for the past two years, was a teaching assistant and has experience in home repairs.
Dan Driscoll - Construction & Community Development AssistantDan is serving a second year as an AmeriCorps member with our affiliate. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Charleston, SC. He is interested in urban development and Real Estate law. Click here for Dan's profile.
Katherine Usher - Youth & Diversity Coordinator- Katherine is serving a second year with our affiliate as an AmeriCorps member. Last year she worked in construction. She has a bachelor's degree in Spanish from UW-Madison and is a leader for Young Life in theh Madison area.
Maureen Coyle - Volunteer & Faith Relations Coordinator- Maureen has a bachelor's degree in journalism and theatre. She has recruited volunteers for the MDA Children’s Summer Camp and events for the Isthmus and Collegiate Magazine. She has experience in marketing, writing and public speaking.
