Habitat ReStore Warehouse Intern Position
POSITION PURPOSE
This fulltime internship is responsible for assisting the manager and assistant manager in the day-to-day operations of the Habitat ReStore. This individual will spend the majority of time performing physically demanding work with donated building materials. This intern will also be responsible in assisting our volunteer coordinator in coordinating offsite events involving volunteer support.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with volunteers on a daily basis as a crew leader
• Assist managers with the processing of materials (e.g. monitoring the flow from drop off , clean up, to pricing.)
• Loading and unloading of donations and pick ups.
• Stocking and in store marketing
• Operate the forklift, truck and other ReStore equipment.
• Facilities management
• Event planning and coordination in cooperation with volunteer coordinator
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
This individual will be working in a setting that is constantly physically demanding. Must possess a clean driving record, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to drive an 18-foot box truck (CDL license not required).
Qualified candidates must also possess strong problem-solving skills; the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and maintain a professional demeanor when working with staff, volunteers and the public; and the ability to multi-task. Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently. This individual must maintain a professional demeanor when working with staff, volunteers and the public. This individual must understand and appreciate the mission of Habitat for Humanity and be available to work Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Required to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and will experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion. This position will require exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2-years of related experience preferred. Must have experience working independently and leading skilled and unskilled work groups.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license required; forklift driving qualification a plus.
BENEFITS:
Stipend: $10,000/year paid biweekly by direct deposit to your bank account and non-monetary compensation: $200/month paid directly to your landlord.
