Habitat Restore

Habitat RestoreThe Habitat ReStore is one of 18 building materials reuse centers in Wisconsin and is part of Habitat for Humanity of Dane County.

The Habitat ReStore accepts donations of new and saleable, used building materials such as cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring and windows. Some materials are used to build Habitat houses. The rest are sold to the public at 50-75% off the retail price. Volunteers work in both warehouse and retail sections.

To donate building materials at the Habitat ReStore, please call (608) 661-2813. Upon donations to the Habitat ReStore, a tax-deductible receipt will be available.

Habitat Restore Counter
The Habitat ReStore:

  • Makes home improvements more affordable. 
  • Helps Habitat build more homes. In an average year, proceeds from ReStore sales builds two to three additional homes in Dane County.
  • Prevents thousands of tons of useable building materials from going into a landfill.

The ReStore is open to the public from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wednesday - Saturday.The store is located just off Hwy 51 on Madison's East Side, at 208 Cottage Grove Road.

Habitat ReStore Art Show and Silent Auction
The Habitat Restore will hold its Annual Salvage Art Show and Auction in October 2010. This show and auction will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. Last year’s show included 47 pieces by 27 artists and raised $5,000 for building affordable homes in Dane County.

The 2010 show will be held from Oct 1 to Oct 29 at Robert Rae Gallery of Fine Art in Stoughton. A gala reception on Oct. 8, 5-9 p.m.will kick off the show. Art pieces in the show will be sold via an online auction. The show and auction will end on Oct. 29 at 9 p.m. with a final reception 5-9 p.m..

The 2010 Habitat ReStore Salvage Art Show features 44 artists and over 60 works of art. Any inquiries about the 2010 Art Show can be sent to artshow@restoredane.org.

Join us in supporting the work of Habitat for Humanity of Dane County through your enjoyment of this wonderful show and support of the auction. This auction supports the mission of the Habitat ReStore to keep reusable materials out of the landfill and helps Habitat build homes in Dane County.
