HYP 2011 -11 Board Members


Name: Anna Kamperschroer Board Position: HYP Chair

Anna studied Accounting and Finance at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, but is from Madison and returned in 2008. She is a CPA and works in the Internal Audit department at CUNA Mutual Group as a Senior Auditor. She enjoys traveling and is always looking forward to her next trip. Anna also likes to stay active, and runs in her free time. Through HYP, Anna has discovered a great outlet for young professionals to volunteer, network and build relationships. She has been inspired by everyone’s devotion to Habitat and is excited to continue to help the group develop and grow.






Name: Brittany Henshue Board Position: Secretary

Brittany is a born and bred Madisonian. She attended Marquette University where she studied English Literature, Business Administration, and Spanish. She works at the Rowland Reading Foundation, an educational publisher for pre-k through second reading curriculum, where she is an order services representative. Brittany is enthusiastic about HYP and enjoys the fact that through it she can connect with other socially conscious professionals to make new friends while serving our community. Beyond spending time with friends and family, Brittany is involved with fundraising efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as well as the First Descents Camp for young adult cancer survivors.






Name: RJ Pire Board Position: Golf Outing Chair

RJ was born in Minot, North Dakota, into an Air Force family and spent much of his childhood moving around the country. He settled in the Madison area for high school, and returned to Madison after completing his degree in Communication at UW-Milwaukee. RJ works at Neider & Boucher as the Office Services Coordinator. Through taking on a leadership role in HYP, RJ strives to contribute to the success of the group by planning its biggest fundraiser, the annual golf outing. In his free time he enjoys sports, especially golf, soccer, lacrosse and skiing.







Name: Joe Long  Board Position: Community Outreach Chair

Joe grew up in Madison and attended MATC where he obtained a Liberal Arts Degree. He is currently a Mortgage Loan Officer at Waterstone Mortgage Corporation. He also serves as a committee chair for the Real Estate Association of South Central Wisconsin. Joe is proud to be a founding HYP member and to see the group develop and achieve great success. In his free time Joe likes to travel, attend concerts, cook, golf, play Frisbee golf, and try new things..







Name: Kristin Needham Board Position: HYP Communications Chair

Kristin was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan where she spent most of her childhood. She attended The University of Michigan graduating with a degree in Art & Design. Kristin moved to Madison in 2009 to serve through the Americorps VISTA program at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. In her year and a half she worked with volunteers to found the HYP group and develop it into an up and coming branch of HFHDC. She now works at the Rowland Reading Foundation as the Conference and Events Specialist. Kristin began volunteering in high school, attended annual service trips at communities in the U.S. from Pittsburgh to New Mexico and internationally in El Salvador, Jamaica, and Ghana. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family, and loves to run. Kristin is motivated by Habitat families and those involved in HYP.





Name: Dan Haag Board Position: HYP Finance Chair

Dan is from DeForest and moved to Madison after graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater where he obtained an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Masters of Professional Accountancy. He works for Smith & Gesteland, LLP, a public accounting firm, as an audit supervisor. He is a CPA and also a Certified Fraud Examiner. Dan likes volunteering at HYP build days because of the great feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction that you have really helped someone. Dan enjoys watching and attending Packers, Brewers, and Badgers games. He also likes getting away for fishing trips and motorcycle rides.






Name: Sara Walschinski Board Position: HYP Membership Chair

Sara is from Green Bay and moved to Madison in October 2010. She attended Carroll University where she majored in Elementary Education, and currently teaches fourth grade in Stoughton. Sara has been an advocate of Habitat for Humanity for several years including involvement with the campus chapter at Carroll University and serving as their President. She particularly enjoys the HYP build days and fundraising, because she likes working towards the goals of the projects. Outside of work and HYP, Sara enjoys spending time with friends and family, and doing things outdoors, especially camping and traveling.






Name: Mitch Hageman Board Position: HYP Volunteer Chair

Mitch grew up in northeast Iowa and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University. He also attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where he received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Mitch moved to Madison in 2010 and is currently seeking a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin. Mitch has been involved with other non-profits including the Boys & Girls club and the Madison Children’s Museum. Mitch values the friendships he has been able to make through HYP, all while working together for a worthy cause. In his free time Mitch likes to snowboard, wakeboard, hike, bike, camp and sail. He also has a private pilot’s license, and enjoys flying.
