The Luke and Mary Joseph Family
Started on: 05/09/09
Completed: 05/18/10

Hello!  We’re the Joseph family.  Luke and I (Mary) have been married for six years.  We have a baby girl, Faith, who we just love like crazy and is always entertaining us with her smiles and giggles, and keeping us on our toes as she is constantly exploring.

Ever since our wedding day, Luke and I have enjoyed talking and dreaming about the day that we would eventually be able to own our own home.  Our discussions would include things like how we would like to landscape, grilling out in the back yard, not being able to hear thumping music from our neighbors through the floor of our apartment, painting our rooms whatever colors we want, inviting family and friends over for dinners and holidays, and someday watching our kids ride their bikes in the driveway and play in the yard.  We didn’t stop dreaming, but it was starting to look like that dream was always going to linger just too far out of our reach.  Now, thanks to the wonderful staff at Habitat and the generous volunteers, this dream is about to come true and we could not be happier!

As a family, the times we cherish the most are the times we spend with God, our families, and our friends.  Mad City Church is our church home, and we love the fellowship there.  We have a large, wonderful and fun family, so there is always something going on somewhere.  As just the three of us, we like to do anything outdoors the most – camping, hiking, biking, fishing, eating grass (Faith), picnicking…..we could never get tired of these things.

Luke works at Kerr-Middleton in Middleton.  He also recently rounded out his six years in the Army National Guard, and is finishing up his contract right now with one year left in the IRR (Individual Readiness Reserve).  Luke has an associate’s degree from Chippewa Valley Tech in Eau Claire.  He enjoys reading the Bible, watching and playing sports, and drawing and mapmaking.  His most recent interests include landscaping projects and woodworking.

I am a stay-at-home mom.  I thank God every day that I get to spend my days at home with our daughter.  I also watch other little ones at home, and do part-time contract work as a personal assistant.  I have a bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison.  Some of my interests include being a mom, playing tennis, jogging, and eating ice cream.

Faith is our constant entertainment.  She loves to sit and concentrate on things – she is quite the little observer.  She also babbles all of the time, and loves to play games with mommy and daddy.

We want to thank everyone who is helping to make our dream of homeownership come true.  We are so grateful to be a part of this wonderful Habitat for Humanity program.  We really can’t say enough how much we appreciate the time and effort all of the volunteers are putting into building our home.  THANK YOU!!
