Hello, my name is LaDeidra Mitchell. I am the proud parent of three children – Jayonta, 18; Javonae, 15, and Jakobe, 12. Although I became a mother at an early age, I knew I wanted the best for my children. I dreamed of owning a home in a nice neighborhood where my children would grow up. With that in mind, I picked up and moved my family from Chicago to Madison in 2000. I wanted them to attend better schools, to live in a safe environment and to live in a diverse community. Now 10 years later, I haven’t been able to fulfill the dream of purchasing a home. Now that my children are growing and getting older and my oldest daughter is a senior in high school, whether she decides to go away to school or join the military, I would like her to have a home to come back to.

I always have kept my faith in God and his will. I continue to pray diligently and remain patient. Everything happens in due time and now is my time. God has brought Habitat for Humanity into our lives and we have been blessed to have this wonderful opportunity to finally become homeowners.

Thank you Habitat for Humanity of Dane County from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us and for believing in us.
