Eligibility Requirements

To apply for a Habitat home, a prospective homeowner must meet these requirements:

• Must attend an Informational Meeting to obtain an application; meetings are held quarterly in January, April, July and October. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County and the second Sunday of the month at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center.
• At least one year of residency in Dane County.
• A household or family income no higher than 60% of the Dane County median income. (See chart below.)
• Ability to pay a $500 down payment on mortgage if selected for the program.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien Status
• Three years positive rental history
• Good credit
