Eligibility Requirements
To apply for a Habitat home, a prospective homeowner must meet these requirements:
- Must attend an Informational Meeting to obtain an application; meetings are held quarterly in January, April, July and October. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at the Harambee Center and the second Sunday of the month at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center.
- At least one year of residency in Dane County.
- A household or family income no higher than 60% of the Dane County median income. (See chart below.)
- Ability to pay a $500 down payment on mortgage if selected for the program.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien Status
- Three years positive rental history
- Good credit
