(OREGON, WI) – A celebration of the construction of three Habitat for Humanity of Dane County homes and the talents of the volunteers and the families will be held Saturday, May 1, 11 a.m. The house blessing ceremonies will take place at 806, 812 and 818 Oregon Parks Ave., in the village of Oregon. The event is coordinated by the volunteers of the Oregon-Brooklyn Habitat for Humanity Satellite.
The families are the Borntrager-Millers, the Josephs and the Lehman families.
The Borntrager-Miller home was built in partnership with students from Oregon High School who are taking a yearlong construction class. It was the first time Habitat for Humanity of Dane County has partnered to build an entire home with a high school. The Jeff and Sandee Lehman family home was built with eight area churches and their members. The churches include: Community of Life Lutheran Church, High Point Church, Hillcrest Bible Church, Holy Mother of Consolation, People's United Methodist, St. John's Lutheran, St. Andrew and St. William's Catholic Church, Verona.
The Luke and Mary Joseph family home was built with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
“Luke and I have enjoyed talking and dreaming about the day that we would eventually be able to own our own home,” said Mary. “We are so grateful to be a part of this wonderful Habitat for Humanity program. We really can’t say enough how much we appreciate the time and effort all of the volunteers are putting into building our home.” -30-
