Oregon-Brooklyn
The Oregon-Brooklyn Satellite is a group of volunteers committed to carrying out the Habitat mission to build simple, decent, affordable housing. Formed in 2003, the Oregon-Brooklyn satellite partners with Habitat for Humanity of Dane County in the planning, family selection and building of a local Habitat home. They have built five affordable homes and are currently building a four-plex for four families.
The chapter is looking for volunteers. If you have a little spare time each month (or a lot) we could use your help.
The House Blessing Ceremony for the Trinidad Family will be held Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3:30 p.m. at 818 Oregon Parks, Village of Oregon. The home built with the Trinidad Family is sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, the second home is built with the Borntrager/Miller Family and is led by students taking a yearlong home construction class from Oregon High School, the third home is sponsored by churches in the community (see Apostles Build below); and the fourth home is sponsored by area businesses and Habitat for Humanity of Dane County and Oregon-Brooklyn donors.
To learn how you can get involved contact: oregonhabitat@yahoo.com or Marcy Worzala at 835-1818 or Cal Gilbertson at 835-7387. For volunteer information contact Colleen Bradley at 669-1292.

The Oregon-Brooklyn satelite will also be participating in an Apostles Build project. The goal is to have 12 churches (apostles) and their congregations work together to build one home for a family in need. The following churches have agreed to participate in the Oregon Apostles Build. If your church is intersted, please contact Don Lund at kegonsalund@charter.net.
