Individual Opportunities Whether it's construction work, helping feed volunteers or serving on a Habitat committee, there are many opportunities available to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. You can register at Volunteer Hub to see what ongoing projects are available.
We need you to help build it! Construction Site Leaders Help Habitat families build their new homes! Construction volunteers are needed at all skill levels. Workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. You must be at least 18. Sign up under the “General Neighborhood” event listings in our Volunteer Hub.
Crew Leaders Do you have high-level construction skills in areas such as foundation finishing (sealing & insulation), framing, roofing, installing siding, soffits and fascia, wall insulation, drywall hanging and finishing, painting, staining and varnishing, landscaping? You could help lead small groups of eager-to-learn volunteers. Contact Ben Delzer at bdelzer@habitatdane.org to find out more!
Lunch/Snack Provider Prepare and serve lunch or snack for Saturday building crews. A great way to meet Habitat volunteers and the families that are building with us. The lunch providers are always appreciated.
Site Hosts Do you want to be on the construction site, but not involved with actual construction? A site host volunteer may be the perfect role for you. Site hosts volunteer on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Site hosts help volunteers to sign in and fill out registration cards, coordinate coffee break preparation, general site organization, and lunch set-up and clean-up.
Road Runner/Warehouse Volunteer Road runners drive Habitat vehicles and transport tools and materials from our warehouse to specific job sites as well as to transport materials between job sites. In addition, we need volunteers who are able to deliver materials from our vendors to job sites or to our warehouse. This volunteer position requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, the ability to lift and load up to 50lbs and the willingness and desire to perform the duties required for some warehouse inventory work when waiting for construction deliveries. The vehicles that you will be required to drive for the most part do not require a commercial drivers license (CDL), but volunteers with that license designation would be gratefully appreciated.

Homeownership Mentors A
Homeownership Mentor works one-on-one to provide support and guidance
for families as they build their home. The transition from renting to
homeownership can be intimidating. This one-on-one relationship is an
effective way to fill the need for support during this time.
Homeownership mentors should expect to commit about five hours a month
to mentor their Habitat family during the six-month building process and
the year after the build. A willingness to work in an educational and
non-judgmental manner is a plus. For more information, contact Angie
Grim at 255-1549, ext. 101 or agrim@habitatdane.org.
Office Volunteer Do
you understand different kinds of databases? Can you file
alphabetically forward and backward? Can you spend a couple of hours a
week with our friendly office staff? Sign up to volunteer at the HFHDC
office! Call 255-1549, ext. 104 or e-mail mkenney@habitatdane.org.
Green Team Member (Landscaping) The

families choose and place their landscaping materials, train the
families in the care and maintenance of their new landscaping,
troubleshoot problems with landscaping and raise money for landscaping
efforts through the annual plant sale. Most of our work is seasonal
(May, June, September and early October). To learn more call 255-1549,
